The High Wycombe Town Centre Partnership will be hosting this year's May Fayre which includes the Mayor's Weighing-in Ceremony. Join us in Frogmoor for the historic tradition of booing and cheering as the current and future Mayor come face-to-face with the scales. The day will be filled with medieval entertainment, including Morris dancers, musicians and jesters, an Italian Market, a garden and history tours.

Les Baladins de Marly-le-Roi in

Un Air de Famille (a family resemblance) - A comedy by Agnes Jaoui and Jean-Pierre Bacri, directed by Sylvain Gagnier performed in French.

A very ordinary family who regularly meet together and dine at the restaurant "Aux Ducs de Bretagne"

Characters include the grumpy Henry, his brother Phillipe, who has "succeeded", his sister Betty, the rebel, Phillipe's innocent wife Yolande, Denis, the bartender and the family's lazy mother, Maurier, who presides over this improbable meeting.

If a wet summer by Lake Geneva watered the seed of the short story that would become Frankenstein, a damp cottage near the river in Marlow has at least an equal claim to fame. It was here, between 1816 and 1818, that Mary Shelley (1797-1851) finished her most celebrated work.

But of those whom Frankenstein's Monster was to destroy, there is one victim distinguished only by her absence from the pages of the novel - Mary Shelley herself. Come and learn more about this underrated writer and the hellish creation that continues to stalk her.

Moonshee is a 6 piece, dynamic and exotic new band bringing together a world of music from English and Irish folk to the sounds of Asia and beyond. From the ancient sounds of the East to the influence of modern English song-writing, via Irish folk and South American percussion, Moonshee "interweave their skills to create something magical and entirely natural".

The combined musical line-up of Moonshee features sitar, tablas, South American percussion, Celtic fiddle and harp, plus vocals from the Indian, Irish and English folk tradition and the material that makes up their repertoire will be familiar to many, especially those from the traditional world, but in the hands of this unique band they are transported to a brave new world where it is impossible to tell where one tradition ends and the other begins.

The programme will include a 60^th anniversary performance of the Finzi masterwork 'Dies Natalis', recreating a seminal performance given in the town by the legendary tenor Wilfrid Brown in 1951. The soloist on this occasion will be Bene't Coldstream who so delighted our audience in the role of the Evangelist in our performance of the St John Passion in March 2011.

Other works included in the programme will be:

Walton: Two movements from Henry V

Saint-Saens: Prelude 'Le Deluge'

Elgar: Introduction and Allegro for Strings

Debussy: Dances sacree et profane

Warlock: Capriole Suite.
