The 48th Wycombe Arts Festival will take place from Saturday 28th April - Sunday 3rd June 2012. It is focused in and around High Wycombe and Marlow in the South of Buckinghamshire within the Chiltern Hills and the Thames Valley.
Once again the festival offers a wide range of the arts, both amateur and professional.
The festival traditionally opens with a concert by Wycombe Choral Society, and other choral events include a concert of American Music given by the 'The Elysian Singers' following their performance at St Martin-in-the-Fields, vocal music from the Russian group Lyra and Choral Evensong sung by the combined choirs of All Saints High Wycombe and All Saints Marlow.
There will be a wide range of musical events including an orchestral concert by The City of London Sinfonia, organ recitals and our popular Festival Jazz welcoming back this year internationally famous Scott Hamilton and his Quartet.
There will be photographic and art exhibitions, open air Shakespeare, National Trust walks, story telling and talks on subjects of local interest and much, much more. Free lunchtime instrumental concerts by talented young musicians will be held once again at Union Baptist Church, Easton Street.
This large range of events reinforces the aim of the festival to bring a wide variety of performing and visual arts to the widest possible audience at a reasonably cost.
Free brochures are available in many local shops, libraries, Tourist Information Centres, train stations and churches throughout the area.
We look forward to seeing you at some of these events.
